The day will include workshops, music, the best local fruits, vegetables, eggs, clams, plants, maple syrup and honey. Guest will have the opportunity to receive a $5 gift certificate to spend at the market.
Food Day is a call to action for Americans to change their diets and our food policies. Food Day 2016 will focus on greener diets as a way to address both health and environmental issues.
The market is committed to ensuring everyone is able to eat healthy, regardless of their financial standing. SNAP/Food Stamp recipients will receive matching dollars up to $25 per market, WIC participants and Seniors receive an exact match for their Farmers’ Market vouchers. while veterans and seniors receive $5-15 gift certificates.
The market will be held on at Kennedy Park in Danbury on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
